Khan has previously talked about wanting to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. sometime next year. What is strange about that is that Khan is coming off of a loss to Lamont Peterson in a fight that Khan looked terrible in. Besides that, Khan has another tough opponent in front of him in the 24-year-old unbeaten Danny Garcia on July 14th, and the last thing that Khan should be doing is talking about fights beyond that one. But now Khan has added Bradley to his list of guys that he’d like to fight next. This comes after Bradley defeated Khan’s close friend WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao last weekend. Khan wants to try and steal Bradley’s thunder by calling him out, and hoping he can make a name for himself by beating him. That’s probably not going to happen, because a fight against Khan will bring in chump change compared to a rematch between Bradley and Pacquiao.

Khan said on his twitter “If Bradley wants it I’m ready…Bradley, how about you take the fight with me in December.”

That sounds like a pretty stupid idea, but I guess you can’t blame Khan for trying. I just hope he doesn’t hold his breath waiting for Bradley to accept his offer.

Khan really should be the last fighter that is looking past an opponent, because he’s got too many holes his game for him to look past anyone at this point. Peterson created a blueprint in how to beat Khan last December by pressuring him constantly, staying close to him, and chasing him in a job when Khan does his routine running. You can’t just walk after Khan when he starts running, because it takes too long to catch up to him. Peterson figured it out how to catch Khan by the 5th round by jogging after him. The only thing he needed to worry about after that was Khan’s constant shoving and pulling down on his head.

Hopefully a good referee will be working the Khan-Garcia fight next month, because if they have another hands off referee that lets Khan get away with shoving and pulling down on the heads of his opponents, it could give Khan a good chance of winning the fight. He’s good at shoving and cranking down on his opponent’s head, but those fouls shoulder never be allowed to happen in the first place. Khan should have been disqualified in the Peterson fight, as well as in the Zab Judah and Marcos Maidana fights as well.
