Image: Haye an overwhelming favorite to defeat ChisoraBy William Mackay: Very few people are picking Dereck Chisora to beat former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye in their fight on July 14th at Upton Park. Between 30,000 to 40,000 boxing fans are expected for this mega fight it promises to be an action pack bout from start to finish.

A poll was conducted earlier today of British trainers and fighters, and Haye was picked by most of the people asked.

Here are the prediction results:

Johnny Eames (trainer): Haye victory
Billy Joe Saunders (fighter): Haye
Bob Shannon (trainer): Haye
Alex Morrison (Manager): Haye
Joe Gallagher (coach): Chisora
Scott Quigg (fighter): Haye
Mark Tibbs (trainer): 50-50 fight
Ryan Rhodes (fighter): Haye
Kell Brook (fighter): Haye
Kerry Hopes (fighter): Haye
Carl Greaves (promoter): Haye
Colin McMillan (former featherweight champ): Haye
Brian Lawrence (trainer): Chisora
Brian Rose (fighter): Haye
Billy Nelson (trainer): Haye
Brendon Ingle (trainer): Haye
Anthony Farnell (Trainer): Haye
Kevin Sanders (trainer): Haye
Ashley Sexton (fighter): Haye
Gavin Rees (fighter): Haye
Stephen Smith (fighter): Chisora
Jamie Moore (former British, Commonwealth and European champ): Haye
Michael Jennings (fighter): Haye
Martin Murray (fighter): Haye
Paul Smith (fighter) Haye

Of the 25 people asked, 21 see Haye winning the fight, 3 see Chisora winning and 1 has it a 50-50 fight. That’s pretty overwhelming for Haye. With that many knowledgeable boxing minds picking Haye, it would seem that he’s almost a guaranteed winner in this bout. Chisora unfortunately is too slow and is more of a plodder. He’s lost three out of his last four fights, and that also helps explain why so many people are predicting for him to lose.
