By Chris Williams: Freddie Roach is worried about the obstacle Tim Bradley could present to his money fighter WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao ahead of their fight on June 9th. Roach sees the pressure that the younger Bradley puts on his opponents as potentially a problem for Pacquiao.

Although in the next breath, Roach writes off Bradley as never having faced anyone like Pacquiao, but the concern is still very much there by Roach. He may not say it but he’s worried and for good reason. Bradley could end the gravy train by beating Pacquiao and sending him into retirement. I think Pacquiao’s pride is too much for him to pack it in once he gets spanked by Bradley, but he might. And I bet Roach doesn’t want that to happen because he gets paid a pretty penny to train Pacquiao for each fight. Once Pacquiao is gone, Roach will be down to two money fighters in Amir Khan and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., neither of which are invincible as we’ve seen already.

Roach said this as quoted by Philstar.com “Bradley will come to fight. He’s like Ricky Hatton but with a good chin. Bradley is a tough guy. He will try till the end. There’s no quitting.”

I smell fear coming from Roach. Bradley could end Pacquiao’s win streak and disrupt whatever plans that Roach and/or Bob Arum have for Pacquiao after this fight. Pacquiao will have to fight his heart out to get the win, and we could see another gift decision given to Pacquiao like in his last fight against Juan Manuel Marquez last November. That would be sad to see Pacquiao getting gift after gift. You know it’s time for a champion to pack it when they’re getting gifts.
