Price stops Sexton, captures vacant British heavyweight title

By Sean McDaniel: Big 6’8″ David Price (13-0, 11 KO’s) stayed unbeaten and captured the vacant British heavyweight title with an impressive 4th round TKO victory over Sam Sexton (15-3, 6 KO’s) at the Aintree Equestrian Centre, Liverpool, Merseyside, United Kingdom.

Price, 28, knocked Sexton down three times on the fight, once at the end of the 3rd round with a nice right hand, and then twice more in the 4th to get a stoppage win. The fight was halted at 2:07 of the round.

Price plans on defending his newly won British heavyweight crown once or twice before moving up to the European level to try and capture the European Boxing Union heavyweight title against Kubrat Pulev.
