Image: Pacquiao: I have a strategy to avoid Bradley's punchesBy Chris Williams: Trainer Freddie Roach has been talking about some mysterious strategy that he’s come up with to keep his fighter Manny Pacquiao from getting hit by challenger Tim Bradley on June 9th, and now Pacquiao is singing the same tune.

In a interview today, Pacquiao said “We have a strategy to avoid Bradley’s punches.”

Unless Roach has invented a button to turn Pacquiao into an invisible fighters, he’s going to get hit and get hit a lot by Bradley on June 9th. Believe me, there is no new strategy to keep Pacquiao from getting hit in this fight. He’s going to be doing the same things he always does in the ring by looking to move in and out and side to side.

It won’t work against Bradley he’s not slow as molasses like Antonio Margarito, and he’s not a fighter that comes forward slowly like Miguel Cotto and Ricky Hatton. Bradley is quick on his feet and he’ll be cutting off the ring and forcing Pacquiao to fight.

Roach generally likes to sound mysterious and almost scientific when he’s talking about what Pacquiao will do against an opponent, but he’s always the same fighter. If you look at how Pacquiao used to fight 10 years ago and compare it to the way he fights now, you’ll see the same fighter.

The only difference is he doesn’t jump from side to side anymore because he’s gotten older and slower. But for the most part, he’s the same fighter he always was. He’s not learned a lot of new tricks.
