Image: Frank Warren would love to see Dereck Chisora vs. David HayeBy Dallan O’ Donnell: Promoter Frank Warren was in the Boxnation studio on Sunday for the Paul Malignaggi bout and was speaking very candidly on a number of subjects including the prospect of a Dereck Chisora vs. David Haye bout, saying he would love to see it.

This was echoed by Steve Lillis who was sat next to him. Warren said that the public would love to see the fight happen, and I’m sure they would. But do real boxing fans want to see it happen?

After what happened when Chisora tool on Vitali Klitschko – the spitting, slapping and post-fight brawl with fellow Brit Haye, I thought Chisora should never be allowed fight again. It was disgraceful to see and gave boxing a bad name to other sports and gave British boxing a bad name in the realms of boxing.

I for one would not like to see Chisora vs. Haye. Chisora is a boring fighter and Haye isn’t much better but would still destroy Chisora. Chisora is, of course, unlicensed after having his license revoked but the British Boxing Board of Control. But he can be licensed in another country.

As for Haye and his part in proceedings I would not grant him a license either. Warren went on to say that he was glad that the British Boxing Board of Control didn’t ban Chisora as he thinks it would be unfair as boxing is how he makes a living and that he needs to feed his family. This is a fair point but boxing is not only a business, it is a sport.

If he can’t be respectful then he doesn’t deserve to have the opportunity to make the money. Hopefully, for the sake of boxing, this fight never happens and Haye stays retired. But what do real boxing fans think? Should this fight happen and if so, would you want to see it? Comment bellow or catch me on Twitter @dallan09
