Marquez created the blueprint in how to beat Pacquiao ages ago back in 2004, and he’s pretty much dominated him in each of their three fights, although the judges have generally scored against him and ignored the boxing fans that have seen Marquez as the winner in the three fights.

Bradley said this as quoted by the Manila Bulletin “They may think that Marquez just has Manny’s number, but whatever Marquez can do, I can do 10 times better. He’s great at counter-punching, and I’m devastating at counter-punching.”

The trick to beat Pacquiao is to time his attacks and tag him back each time he goes to land. Pacquiao obviously doesn’t like to get hit, and his attacks become fewer and fewer. What Bradley needs to do is also attack Pacquiao on his own. He can’t sit and wait for him each time; he’s got to back him up and put pressure on him a certain amount of times to ensure he gets the win. It’s not going to be enough that he’s snapping Pacquiao’s head with immediate counter shots every time Pacquiao throws, because the judges will still likely give Pacquiao the decision because of how popular he is.

Bradley has to make sure he really whips Pacquiao and has him bleeding. It’s got to be such a beating that the judges won’t dare give Pacquiao the win because it’ll make them look bad and anger fans. The last fight was a joke, because Marquez clearly won that fight, as he did in 2008 and 2004, but the judges still gave it to Pacquiao. You got to really completely dominate Pacquiao to get the win. Beating him by say four rounds probably isn’t enough to get the win. It’s got to be a real beating.
