When is Kell Brook going to fight someone with a pulse?

Image: When is Kell Brook going to fight someone with a pulse?By Scott Gilfoid: When I undefeated Kell Brook (27-0, 18 KO’s) going to finally fight someone that’s actually any good? I’m tired of seeing Brook fighting soft 2nd and 3rd tier opposition over and over again while his fans flap their gums about how great this guy is. If he’s great, why isn’t he fighting the best in the division, huh? Why are guys like Matthew Hatton, 40-year-old Lovemore N’dou, Rafal Jackiewicz and Luiz Galarza dug up to be put in with Brook? What’s the problem? Is a confidence thing?

If I was Brook’s promoter it would be tough love all the way. I’d throw Brook in with Mike Jones, Victor Ortiz, Andre Berto, Devon Alexander, Thomas Dulorme, Randall Bailey, and Ed Paredes in a sink or swim fashion. If Brook survives, then good but if he gets knocked cold, then oh well. It’s all about survival of the fittest. No way would I have put an eight year pro like Brook in with Matthew Hatton, N’dou, or Galarza at this advanced stage in Brook’s career. Those are fighters that I would have had Brook fighting in his 1st year as a pro, not his 8th year. If Brook wasn’t feeling up to facing the quality fighters that I wanted him to, I’d dump him in a heart beat. No soft touches.

You got to bring these guys up against quality, not soft fighters or old lions without their teeth. Look at the guy. He’s wasting away fighting Hatton and he looked faded by the 8th round against him. I’m sorry, but Brook needs to be rebuilt from ground up. I think he needs a new trainer, a new country to fight out and he needs to be put in with nothing but quality from now. He’d be so much better than he is right now if he had been facing good opposition all these years. What a waste.
