In looking at the records of those great fighters, Wladmir is close to catching up to Dempsey and Louis but will likely never achieve the amount of KOs that big George Foreman accomplished during his long career.

Here are the records for Louis, Moore, Foreman and Dempsey:

* George Foreman (76-5, 68 KO’s)

* Jack Dempsey (61-6-9, 50 KO’s)

* Joe Louis (66-3, 52 KO’s)

* Archie Moore (185-23-10, 131 KO’s)

With a knockout win over Mormeck, Wladimir will tie Dempsey as the 5th all time for champs. Archie Moore is at a level that’s hard to even fathom. 131 knockouts is an astronomical number, as is his 185 wins. Moore fought all the time and was an incredibly knockout puncher.

Wladimir doesn’t have the ability to throw with huge power with every shot like Foreman, who was just naturally strong and could wear you down by hitting you with heavy shots all over. You can make an argument that Wladimir may have more power than Foreman with a single shot, but he isn’t able to throw with that kind of power all the time. Foreman was able to hit guys with a ton of power with every shot and it had a wearing effect on them. Few fighters could stand up to that kind of power for long without getting worn down and stopped.

Mormeck has his work cut out for him tonight in trying to survive for the full 12 rounds and not end up as Wladimir’s 50th knockout statistic. Wladimir was hoping to make David Haye his 50th KO victim, but Haye used his feet to survive the full 12 rounds by moving constantly.
