Wladimir knocked Mormeck down times in the fight, once in the 2nd and the final time in the 4th. The fight was halted in the 4th when Wladimir connected with a big left-right combination that put Mormeck down for the count.

In winning the fight, Wladimir scores his 50th knockout of his career and can get on to more serous fights. Mormeck looked like a cruiserweight and never was able to get anything going due to his lack of size. Much of the fight saw Mormeck bum rushing Wladimir and ending up in a clinch. It was as if Mormeck had no game plan for what to do when he got inside and was grabbed over and over gain by Wladimir in a seemingly never-ending flow of clinches. It was a very ugly to watch fight mostly because of the clinching but also because Mormeck looked petrified and wasn’t throwing any punches. He threw a couple in round one, couple more in round two…etc.

In the opening round, Wladimir jabbed at will at Mormeck keeping him on the outside for most part. Wladimir landed a big left hook at point but other than that there was a lot of clinching going on due to Mormeck rushing him and ending up holding on.

In the 2nd round, Wladimir started opening up with right hands and caught Mormeck with a perfectly timed shot to the head that sent Mormeck down on hands and knees on the canvas. After a badly hurt Mormeck got back to his feet, Wladimir attacked him with big right hands and left hooks driving him backwards. It looked for a second like Wladimir was going to finish Mormeck in this round, but the Frenchman grabbed Wladimir and was able to make it out of the round.

Wladimir continued the domination in the 3rd round nailing Mormeck with powerful jabs and 1-2 combinations. Wladimir missed with a few shots that would likely knocked Mormeck cold in this round but his head movement made it difficult for Wladimir to time him as well as he would have liked. Wladimir nailed Mormeck with a big 1-2 combination that led to a clinch where Wladimir leaned all of his weight on Mormeck, causing him to collapse on the canvas. He slowly got back to his feet but didn’t look like was really interested in getting hit with too many more of Wladimir’s big shots. Mormeck just looked defeated mentally at that point in the fight. Mormeck attempted a wild left hook that was more desperation than anything that missed badly.

In the 4th round, Wladimir started off jabbing Mormeck from the outside. Mormeck tried to get around the jabs by coming fast and low. However, Wladimir caught Mormeck with a powerful 1eft-right combination to the head that put Mormeck down and out. The fight was immediately halted at that point.
