Image: Bradley: I'm willing to go through hell to beat PacquiaoBy Chris Williams: It appears that Bob Arum made a big mistake in setting up a fight between Timothy Bradley (28-0, 12 KO’s) and Manny Pacquiao (54-3-2, 38 KO’s) for June 9th. Although Arum will make out well either way due to him promoting both fighters for this Top Rank in house fight at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada, but it’ll hurt Arum big time if Bradley defeats Pacquiao because he’s Arum’s number #1 cash cow fighter. A big loss for Pacquiao obviously isn’t what Arum envisioned in setting up this fight.

Bradley isn’t just a fodder opponent coming to get beat and make Pacquiao look good in the process. He’s coming to win and beat the aging Pacquiao to add his scalp to his resume.

Bradley said this as quoted by examiner.com “They know that I am willing to go though hell to win this fight…I am very surprised that this fight is actually happening. Honestly, I think that a lot of people feel that this is a very dangerous fight for Manny.”

You can say that again, Bradley. Pacquiao is slowing down and is ready to get picked off by one of the young wolves. We’ve been seeing Pacquiao slowing down since the Joshua Clottey fight but his last bout against Juan Manuel Marquez last November really highlighted how much Pacquiao has lost through aging. Some of the deterioration was disguised due to the fodder that Arum has put Pacquiao in with in the last couple of years. There’s nothing like putting Pacquiao in with lesser fighters to keep him running smoothly as he starts to age. The catchweight handicap fights obviously help out too.

All Bradley has to do is fight Pacquiao at a fast pace and make sure he roughs him up on the inside to make him pay for every shot he lands. Pacquiao will create numerous opportunities for Bradley to land his counter shots due to Pacquiao just doing what he always does by using the shotgun approach to fighting by looking to throw 1000 punches in 12 rounds. When you’re just trying to throw a massive amount of shots, it creates too many opportunities for guys like Bradley to capitalize.
