Chisora and Haye argued with another briefly before fighting at the post fight press conference after Wladimir’s brother WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko had beaten Chisora by a lopsided 12 round unanimous decision.

In a letter sent out to Sky Sports News, Wladimir said “I am shocked and deeply embarrassed by the actions of Dereck Chisora and his team over the past week. It saddens me…disrespected Vitali Klitschko and the weigh-in and fight night…Hope some type of action is taken to show the world that the sport of boxing WILL NOT tolerate this.”

Wladimir no doubt was referring to Chisora having slapped Vitali during the weigh-in last Friday night, and then later spitting on Wladimir himself in the ring last Saturday before the Klitschko-Chisora fight started. And then, of course, the brawl that took place between Chisora and David Haye where Chisora walked up to Haye while he was in the crowd at the press conference, leading to Haye punching Chisora.

Getting spit in the face by Chisora in front of what is likely millions of viewers, obviously was a humiliating experience for Wladimir. To his credit, he held back and refrained from punching Chisora. By doing that, Wladimir might have injured Chisora resulting in the fight being postponed. But being spit on regardless was a embarrassing thing for Wladimir. He could turn around and try and avenge this by agreeing to fight Chisora, but with three defeats in his last four fights, Chisora isn’t a desirable opponent. At the same time, Wladimir would likely have to put up with a lot more potentially embarrassing things from Chisora during the run up to a fight and even the fight itself, if he was to agree to a bout with him. It’s not likely that Wladimir will want to put himself through that ordeal. Chisora’s behavior may have brought attention to himself but it’s not the kind of attention that will likely get him another fight with Vitali or a bout against Wladimir. Those bridges appear to be burned permanently now.
