Vitali: I’m going to teach Chisora a lesson

Vitali told AP “I’m really looking forward to teaching this young gentleman a lesson. He is from Great Britain, but he’s lacking appropriate manners.”

Chisora has shown little of any respect of Vitali since the fight was first signed, calling him boring, old and saying that he and his brother Wladimir are bad for boxing. Chisora figures he’s going to bring excitement back to the division, and thinks he’s end up outworking the taller 6’7″ Vitali in this fight.

Outworking Vitali is really the only way Chisora can win this fight, because Vitali has excellent ability to take big shots without going down and Chisora will come up empty if he loads up on his punches like he did in his last fight against Robert Helenius last December. Chisora was looking to score a knockout in that fight and he threw some really big bombs, some of which landed but a great number that missed as well.

Chisora will get picked apart by Vitali if he throws same kinds of power shots and will end up taking a bad beating from the large Ukrainian Vitali. Chisora will probably take a beating from him anyway, but he’ll help himself if he doesn’t fight as wildly as he did against Helenius because that won’t work in this fight.

Chisora has never fought anyone nearly as good as Vitali and it’s hard to imagine how Chisora will react. He’s fought two big heavyweights in 2011 in 6’9″ Tyson Fury and 6’6 1/2″ Helenius, but neither of those guys are in the same class as Vitali is. Chisora loss to Fury by a one-sided 12 round decision and lost to Helenius by a close 12 round decision. Chisora might have been beaten worse by Helenius had the huge heavyweight not injured his right hand and shoulder.
