Scottish First Minister to show support for Lee McAllister

It has been confirmed today that Scotland’s First Minister, The Right Honourable.

Alex Salmond MSP will show his support to Lee McAllister of Aberdeen by attending Fridays weigh in ahead McAllister’s challenge for the European Boxing Union Light Welterweight title on Saturday evening against the current champion Denis Shafikov of Russia .

“Alex Salmond has always showed great support to Lee ”said promoter Tommy Gilmour.“He has previously visited Lee in the ‘Granite City ABC’ when he has been training in the run up to a fight, and has always sent warm words of support when he is fighting.”

He adds “For him to take time out of his busy schedule, to attend Fridays weigh in is a great endorsement for Lee and Saturday’s show. The show on Saturday is officially a sell out, so that shows the level of support Lee has in Aberdeen and the wider area.”

While Alex Salmond will be in attendance, Tommy Gilmour also confirms the weigh in will be open to the general public “Due to the level of backing, and requests we have been receiving. We have decided to open the weigh-in to the public and give them the chance to get behind Lee and the other local fighters ahead of Saturdays card. We are having the weigh-in at the Holiday Inn Express at the Exhibition Centre at 3pm on Friday 24th February”
