Mayweather to fight three times in 2012, hopefully against Pacquiao, says De La Hoya

By Dan Ambrose: Golden Boy Promotions president Oscar De La Hoya says that he’s shooting to get three fights for WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr in 2012, with one of them being against WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, according to worldboxingnews.net.
For instance, when Mayweather was recently trying to get a fight against Pacquiao recently, Arum said that an outside arena on the Las Vegas strip needed to be erected before the fight could take place, but the catch was that it wouldn’t be completed until it was time for Mayweather to begin his 87 day jail term.
Arum didn’t want the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight to take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. The weird part is, Pacquiao is now fighting Timothy Bradley at the MGM Grand on June 9th. There were a number of other obstacles that got in the way of having the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight be put together, and I don’t expect these obstacles to go away when and if Mayweather tries to put together a fight with Pacquiao later on in the year.

Gettin out of prison alive has nothing to do with it, something could happen just as easily walking the streets. By making plans it just shows that Golden Boy is being proactive in keeping Mayweather busy. On the other hand Pacquiao has to wait around for Arum to go out and scout for B-level fighters, sign them to Top Rank contracts to become sacrificial catch-weight offerings to the Pacquiao the catch-weight king.

Learn how to read idiot. De La Hoya said Mayweather would fightb 3 times in 2012, not Arum. So a fight in November is not out of the question if Mayweather’s promoter says it. Obviously, must have had some discussion with Mayweather. The only problem would be getting Arum to let Pacquiao fight.

Being that it’s not likely the two fighter MAYWEATHER AND PACQUIAO will ever fight it’s becom increasingly important to see how much better they did again’st opponents they BOTH FACED.
FOR EXAMPLE:
When Mayweather fought Hatton it took him TEN rounds to knock him down, but, when Pacquiao fought Hatton he knocked him out COLD in the SECOND ROUND and there was not even a post fight interview with Hatton.
When Mayweather fought De La Hoya it took him 12 rounds to win by SPLIT decision. A fight which many claimed (including Floyd’s father) that Oscar won the fight on points and aggresiveness alone, but, WHEN PACQUIAO fought De La Hoya, the
had to RESCUE DE LA HOYA in th 8th round and throw in the towel screaming and crying.
When Mayweather fought Juan Manuel Marquez he made him look like a fool. But Pacquiao has had trouble with him every time they’ve me.
When Mayweather fought Mosely (lol) Mosely almost knocked him out in the first round but Mayweather NEVER even came close to knocking down Mosely in the ring LIKE PACQUIAO DID.
I hope Cotto beats Mayweather up, after that i would really like to see Cotto vs Avarez, just my opinion…..

Hopefully both Mayweather and Pacquiao will win their next fights so that this anticipated mega fight can happen. to make that happen promoters on both sides should start negotiating now to overcome any obstacles that could prevent them from fighting. November should be their target date.
