By Jim Dower: Tomorrow night former WBO Jurgen Brahmer (36-2, 29 KO’s) returns to the ring against Jose Maria Guerrero (29-2-1, 11 KO’s) in a stay busy fight on card stacked with big named fighters at the Grand Grand Elysée Hotel in Hamburg, Germany.

The Brahmer-Guerrero fight is a mismatch unfortunately. To be honest, about every fight on the entire seems to be a terrible mismatch as well but the card does have a lot of talent on it from top to bottom. The problem is that the talent is facing overmatched opposition.

The following well known fighter’s will see action: Rakhim Chakhkiev, Denis Boytsov, Ruslan Chagaev, Firat Arslan, Ina Menzer, Rafael Bejaran, Vitali Tajbert, Marcel Meyerdiercks and Vladimir Tereshkin.
The sad part about this card is that none of these excellent fighters mentioned above are being matched against quality opposition.

Chagaev, the ex-WBA heavyweight champion, should be fighting other top contenders so he can get another title shot but he’s being pitted against Kertson Manswell, a fighter who has no shot at beating Chagaev. In a sign that Chagaev may not be taking the fight seriously, he weighed in at a career high of 242.5, which is 10 pounds over his previous highest weight. He should still beat Manswell, though, no matter what he weighs for this fight.

Heavyweight Boytsov, 25, will be facing Darnell Wilson in yet another soft fight for the highly ranked Boytsov. He really needs to consider stepping it up at some point in the future.

Unbeaten cruiserweight Rakhim Chakhkiev, the 2008 Olympic heavyweight gold medalist for Russia, faces an overmatched Alexander Kotlobay in a 10 round bout. Kotlobay is the same fighter that Enzo Maccarinelli destroyed in one round in April 2010.
