Image: Vitali: Chisora will be finished by the 6thBy Allen Fox: In response to challenger Dereck Chisora (15-2, 9 KO’s) predicting an 8t round knockout in their fight next month on February 18th, WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (43-2, 40 KO’s) is predicting a 6th round TKO in their battle in Munich, Germany.

In their press conference on Monday, Chisora said “You know what, I am going to whip his a**.”

Vitali then responded with “You are landing on the floor in round number six.”

This suggests that Vitali won’t bother carrying Chisora the way he’s done with some of his recent overmatched opponents such Tomasz Adamek, Chris Arreola and Alberto Sosnowski. Vitali toyed with those fighters and seemed to paw at them with arm punches mostly. Every once in a while, Vitali would load up with a really big shot that would get their attention but for the most part, he slowly, methodically beat them down.

Chisora is incredibly confident but lacks the experience to match his confidence unfortunately. His best wins of Chisora’s career came against Sam Sexton on two occasions. Other than that, his close fight with Robert Helenius you might want to consider a win as well, but Helenius fought with an injured right hand and fought a really dumb fight by just covering up and letting Chisora get in close to work his body.

The Klitschko brothers don’t fight like that, so it’s almost an impossibility that Chisora will be able to work on the inside and do the same things he was able to do in the Helenius fight. Vitali will back away when Chisora comes forward and hit him with left hooks and right hands while backing up. Chisora is good at making fighters miss with his head movement but he’s still going to get hit an awful lot in this fight and something will to give.

In Chisora’ fight against Tyson Fury last year, Chisora looked helpless to do anything because of Fury’s jabs and constant movement. Fury prevented Chisora from coming in close to land his bombs and easily pounded out a wide 12 round decision. To be fair, Chisora was a little overweight for the fight but he never got anything going even in the first few rounds.

When a fighter comes into a bout overweight, they at least do well for a couple of rounds. Chisora couldn’t handle the movement from Fury and lacked the reach to land his big shots. That fight gives you a pretty good indication about what Chisora’s fate will be against Vitali, except that Chisora is going to have a really hard time making it to the 12th round due to Vitali’s big power.
