Vitali: Chisora is my next knockout victim, I promise

By Sean McDaniel: WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (43-2, 40 KO’s) was amused in talking to challenger Dereck Chisora (15-2, 9 KO’s) on BoxNation recently where the two of them spoke about their fight next month on February 18th.

Vitali is predicting a knockout in the 5th or 6th rounds, whereas Chisora sees himself taking Vitali out in the 8th.

There are some of the things that Vitali said:

“I know my knockout record. You are the next one, I promise. Do you think you are a better puncher than me? I doubt it. Do you think you have better technique than me? I don’t believe that. Round number #5, maximum 6, I knock you out. I’m very excited to listen to your excuses after the fight at the press conference. You have to burn 25 pounds of fat.”

Chisora said:

“Tell me your last three fights. Sosnowski is a cruiserweight. You are a big bully. That’s what the problem is. You’re a big bully on a playground. You’re the kind of kid that goes around and takes other peoples candy. Now you met you match. I’m a heavyweight. You’re not as good as you were before. You say you have a good KO record. I don’t think you got it anymore. You lost your mojo. The whole world wants me to win. How many people want you to win? What are you going to do when I stop you? I don’t make excuses. Physically and mentally, I’m going to take it off of you. You know that. You can see it. If you don’t pull out of the fight like your little brother did, we can get it on. You know I don’t come on the outside. I will come on the inside. You like to rob people from their money. That’s your problem. You want to put bums on seats. You want to get American fighter hasbeens; you like to box cruiserweights.”

Yep, Chisora to the canvas for sure…

  • Moonshineman says:

The Heavyweight Division is so B O R I N G. The Klitchkos are great, but there are no contenders out there. There’s got to be another Tyson,Lennox Lewis, etc.

  • JuusoX says:

Chisora couldn’t even bring down a one handed Helenius. Vitali will hurt him bad.

  • Oziie Bob says:

I never questioned Chisora’s courage for stepping into the ring with Vitali! But I stand by what I said, the guy has no chance against Vitali! As for being from a country full of loudmouths! Gee! that comment really hurts! By the way, Chisora was born in Zimbabwe, not England! Have a nice day!

  • Anonymous says:

most likely result will be for vitali to knock out chisora early, with tyson fury chisora was badly out of shape but hes much better when he gets the work done, and hes gonna have to work harder than he ever has before to get into the ring with vitali, but even if he does i cant see him having the skill to beat vitali, would be an amazing upset if he somehow pulls it off though

  • richyrich says:

yea sure guys, chisora isnt even good enough to hold the pads for vitali, never mind fighting and beating him!Vitali by 5th round ko

  • carl says:

Yeah right Derek..before you start asking someone who have they beaten, well what about you?? Who have you beaten Derek? Christ, he couldn’t even beat Fury, couldn’t knock out Helenius, yet he thinks he’s going to KO a guy who has never been knocked out..yeah, Solis said the same thing..then the reality hits, or more to the point, 6ft 7 hits, and it’s survival mode for the opposition. I’m a Brit and I’m not a Vitali fan or Chisora fan, just a realist..you can’t blame anyone for trying to hype themselves -or the fight- up, but after hearing it back in the Summer from Haye, it’s getting tiring..get in the ring and let your boxing do the talking, otherwise you’ll be sorely embarrased afterwards..just ask Haye…btw: I’d still love to know how David managed to dance into the ring, all smiles, lithe and limber for his fight against Wlad, yet he left hobbling like he had trenchfoot! At least, or I hope, that Chisora will not be such a fake once he’s in there..he did well against Helenius and showed a lot of heart and should have got the decision, but anyone who got pasted by Fury shouldn’t, on paper, stand an earthly against a fighter like Vitali

  • Doctor says:

I’m a brit and I dont want Chisora to win so it cant be the whole world.

Vitali by a painful breakdown and a final stoppage. As it should have been for Briggs and was for Adamek. Not forgetting Solis and look at what he was going to do. They just all fail to deliver.

@ukboxingfan…if the only hope is Vitali is old, how poorly will that reflect on any success by Chisora?.

  • Aussie Aussie Aussie says:

Gary at least Ozzie bob posted a comment
relating to the article. Go somewhere else!!

  • Gary says:

Yep, Chisora is an outside bet, but the division needs some action and an upset. Chisora has two fists and a heartbeat so he might as well take a crazy risk and go in all guns blazing…cant work out why he gets cheeky comments from ozzie bob, thats a country full of loud mouths with nothing to back it up !!!!!!!

  • ukboxingfan says:

delboy just keep circling left and right round vitali and he should go down after tripping over his own feet…hes getting old and clumsy. take him out and shock the world blood!!

  • Ozzie Bob says:

Gee! Look at that picture of Vitali! The look on his face! He sure looks worried by Chisora’s rantings!

  • ili memishi says:

    LOL :)

  • Geoetz says:

    Chisora looks like Spongebob Squarepants!

  • Activist (Taki) says:

Go Vitali finish him off for good.

  • davedf says:
