Price would have major problems with Chisora

Image: Price would have major problems with ChisoraBy Scott Gilfoid: While unbeaten heavyweight contender David Price (12-0, 10 KO’s) looked good in dispatching an out of his class John McDermott (26-8, 17 KO’s) earlier tonight in their British heavyweight title eliminator bout in Liverpool, I think Price would have major problems trying to beat a heavyweight that could take his big right hand punches like Derek Chisora (15-2, 9 KO’s).

I don’t think Chisora is all that great of fighter, as we saw in his loss to Tyson Fury last year, but Chisora does have a good chin. He can take a shot and keep coming forward to land his occasional big punches.

The thing is Price doesn’t have a good and his ability to move around the ring is rather than limited in comparison to the much more mobile Tyson Fury. That’s why I think Chisora could knock Price out, but then turn around and lose to Fury. In turn, Price will likely beat Fury when and if they meet up because of the combination of his right hand power and Fury’s shaky chin.

Price probably won’t have to worry about facing Chisora and being exposed by him because they’re on different tracks right now. Chisora is fighting WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko next month on February 18th in Munich, Germany and Chisora will almost surely lose that fight badly because of Vitali’s steel chin and excellent boxing skills. Price won’t have to worry about Chisora for a while after that, but if they do meet up then I think Chisora will take him out.
