McKenna (McJack): Dereck Chisora (15-2, 9 KO’s) wasted little time before he began trash talking WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (43-2, 40 KO’s) when he showed up at the London press conference to hype their upcoming fight. “Del-Boy” as he is known to his fans will attempt to take the WBC title away from “Dr. Ironfist” when they clash in Munich, Germany on February 18.

The seemingly confident Chisora told Klitschko that he would suffer the 3rd defeat in his brilliant career. “Del-Boy” was quoted in The Sun saying:

“I thrive on fighting away from home, I love it. The more boos I have, the more excitement it gives me. I’m looking forward to fighting in Germany and I’m excited to be fighting for the biggest prize in sports history.

“I’ve already said to Vitali that I hope he doesn’t chicken out like his brother did when he was meant to fight me. Wladimir pulled out of fighting me twice and I just hope he doesn’t do the same. I just want to fight – that’s all I want to do.

“He’s going down in the 8th round. He doesn’t know that yet, but now he does because I’ve just told him!

“He doesn’t know what’s coming and that’s the whole point. All I can say is that I’m coming to fight and he better be ready.”

Chisora went on to say that the Klitschko’s have killed the sport and that the whole world will be on his side for his fight with Vitali. Chisora lost his last fight with Robert Helenius. The fight took place in Finland which is Robert’s homeland. Nearly everyone including Vitali thought that Chisora had clearly won. “Dr. Ironfist” was impressed enough with Chisora’s performance that “Del-Boy” wound up getting the nod as to who Vitali’s next opponent would be.

Chisora has the potential of being a formidable opponent for Klitschko if he manages to get in shape, something he failed to do when he lost a decision to Tyson Fury last July. In that fight the 6’1 ½” Chisora weighed in at a hefty 261 pounds, a good 25 pounds overweight and he wound up running out of gas in the later rounds. Given that his fight with Vitali is the opportunity of a lifetime for Chisora, the gut feeling is that he will manage to get in shape. Chris Arreola in a similar situation back in September of 2009 however managed to come into the ring a good 20 pounds overweight against Vitali.
