Bute needs to fight Andre Dirrell next

By Scott Gilfoid: IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute needs to listen to WBA/WBC super middleweight champion Andre Ward and choose to fight Andre Dirrell next rather than look for another scrub fighter to pad his record with.
Froch was beaten just last month by Andre Ward, and it would look really bad if Showtime were to give their approval to a Bute-Froch fight, especially given all the fodder that Bute has fought during the last three years as the IBF champion.
Why should Showtime bend over backwards for Bute rather than give him some tough love by making his walk the right course and start fighting guys with a pulse. I think Froch is a swell fighter but the fact of the matter is he struggles when facing talent like Ward, Dirrell and to a lesser extent Mikkel Kessler.
This is why Showtime needed to say no to Bute when he got the not so brilliant idea that it would be great to fight the recently beaten Froch rather than someone that’s actually fighting well and winning. I just know who would even think of such a dumb idea as to fight Froch when he just got whipped. If that was Bute’s idea, then he needs to let his promoter think for him because that was just dumb. I wouldn’t even want to see Bute fight Froch in a stay busy fight.
As a champion, you got to fight guys that are WINNNING, not LOSING, and Froch got whipped by Ward. So, the right choice for Bute and his promoter to make for his next fight is for them to pick Dirrell and once they do that Showtime will likely give their blessing to the fight. But if Bute is stubborn about it and tries to trot out Froch or someone like Librado Andrade again, then Bute deserves to have Showtime set limits and say no to his mismatch. You can’t let a fighter that’s used to fighting mismatches over and over again keep shoving that garbage down the throats of American fans.

If Bute does fight Andre Dirrell and beats him then you’ll just say that he was rusty after having one fight since Abraham gave him a headache. No win situation for Bute with you.
2 things about Dirrell: 1) Dirrell was absent for about 1 and 1/2 year, and therefore his rankings are very low. 2) On the otherhand he is a good and dangerous fighter. So, alltogether, this means Bute would take the risk to lose to a nobody. If he might lose, than his booxrec score will go down. But I’m sure that if he will be exposed by Dirrell, than Ward will fight him !
Any way a fight against Froch seams logic for Bute. After Johnsonn, this seams a better fight ! So, this is a very small step forward for Bute. I think this is a well chosen opponent. Maybe after this fight Bute will have learned more and will have the balls to fight Dirrell. So, this tactic might just be the safer road, longer but safer, towards the same peak … and there on the peak he will meet AWard. And this safer road will also bring lots more cash. Ther you have … more advantages this way.
However, if Scot Gilford is right (Ward wants for Bute to fight Dirrell), that means that Ward wants for Bute to clear the division for him in his place. Is Ward afraid to clear the division himself ?! Will he be considered the best at SMW ?
One thing is clear neither Ward nor Bute cleard the division, because they still have to fight each other.

Sorry for the mentally challenged Andre Dirrell, Interbox announced minutes ago that Bute will fight Froch with or without Showtime involvement. They can easily afford it cause Canadian and British market are dwarfing the 2 millions $ offered by Showtime.

Does Bute have to listen to Andre Ward? Absolutely not. Andre Ward is concerned that he will have to face Dirrell, so he asks Bute to fight Dirrel, instead. In addition, Bute CAN fight whoever his OWN PROMOTER AND ADVISOR put in front of him, NOT whom Ward wants Bute to fight because Ward can Bute’s future foe.

Yes, Bute should fight Dirrell, it will end in some sort of controversy, as did the other two fights Dirrell had against top opposition, everybody will say Bute took an easy fight, it all makes sense. When Vitali picked Chisora as an opponent you complain that he’s not picking a top ranked fighter, yet you want Bute to pick an actor that’s dropped down the rankings like a stone, you’re a total knob.
I wanna see Froch vs Bute damn it! Froch never gives up and allways comes to fight and knock out the opponent. Dirrell may run and pot shot, Froch is far more exciting.
what has Dirrell done to deserve a shot at Bute
- he ran away from, held and ‘tripped over’ whenever under pressure against Froch
- he faked being knocked out when he was on the verge of being knocked out for real against Abraham
- he then came up with some excuse to avoid facing Ward.

NO! The reason Showtime is cool to the Froch fight is that they have only one fight left on the Bute deal….which of course they hope to be Bute vs Ward. They would be no more enthusiastic putting Bute against Dirrell as then after Dribble got shown to be the overhype job is is and KO’d Showtime would have to bid (expensively) on the Ward Vs Bute fight. Scott you know nothing about boxing and are blatantly being paid by the Dirrell brothers for you to hype them up. Shut up.
