Image: Wladimir pulls out of Mormeck fight: Should he be stripped of his titles?By Dan Ambrose: IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko has pulled out of this Saturday’s fight against Jean Marc Mormeck due to his recent kidney stones removal.

Although this is something that is a freak thing, seeing Wladimir pull out of fights is becoming a regular thing lately. For Wladimir, this is the third time in his last four scheduled fights that he had to pull out of a fight at the last minute. Wladimir twice pulled out of fights against Dereck Chisora due to a nagging abdominal injury. And now we’ve got Wladimir pulling out of the Mormeck fight with only a week’s notice.

With Wladimir’s poor record of making it to his scheduled fights lately boxing fans are taking a huge risk by buying tickets to see his fights. If they don’t mind having to deal with the hassle of trying to get their money back after he cancels his fights, then I’m happy for them. But I know after seeing Wladimir cancel three fights in the last year, I personally wouldn’t bother purchasing tickets to see him fight. I don’t need the headache.

I think Wladimir should be stripped of all three of his heavyweight titles so that a more reliable heavyweight champion can step in and be counted on to defend his title on a regular basis without the cancellations. Boxing needs a champion that can be counted on to be there on the dates that they’re scheduled to fight without being sidelined by aches and pains.

It’s likely too late for Mormeck to get a substitute opponent to still fight on the card, and who will want to still pay to see the fight card without Wladimir.
