Image: Lou Dibella : Floyd Mayweather vs. Sergio Marinez Possible for 2012By Daniel Echevarria: According to ESPN.UK Lou Dibella of “Dibella Entertainment” has gone on record saying there was a brief conversation with reps for Floyd Mayweather that if a fight cannot be done with Manny Pacquiao, then they would consider a showdown with Sergio “Maravilla”Martinez.

Lou Dibella for fans that don’t know is a well known boxing promoter as is Bob Arum to Top Rank and Dibella promotes Sergio Martinez, Andre Berto, Breidis Prescott, and Peter Manfredo just to name a few. He has an ongoing show aired in New York called “Broadway Boxing” showcasing all up and coming boxers. This is great news because at the top of Ring Magazines P4P list Sergio Martinez is the # 3 P4P best fighter in the world behind Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather.

Bob Arum has already said Manny Pacquiao will not fight Sergio Martinez because he is too big, even though Antonio Margarito was at 150 when he fought Pacquiao and Martinez said he would drop to 150. But the answer was still NO, so Pacquiao vs. Martinez is out the picture. So number 2 is Floyd Mayweather.

Sergio Martinez is the perfect candidate for Floyd if Bob Arum can’t step up to the plate after all the accusations that Floyd Mayweather was scared because Sergio Martinez is the second name today that tons of fans say Floyd is afraid to step in the ring with also besides Manny Pacquiao.

A fight with Sergio Martinez would be the easiest and fastest deal to make because Lou Dibella made the deal between Sergio Martinez and Darren Barker basically over his “Twitter” page so a deal can be made anywhere according to Dibella and Mayweather vs. Pacquiao 2012 is starting to stale and lose steam so it’s becoming apparent that Top Rank will lose out on the Biggest Pay Day in History and Dibella and Martinez will reap the rewards.
