HATTON PROMOTIONS RETURN TO SHEFFIELD

HATTON PROMOTIONS will be returning to Sheffield when they stage a night of Championship boxing at Ponds Forge Arena on Saturday 24th March.

Heading the Sky Sports televised bill is Gary Buckland who will be making the first defence of his British super-featherweight title.

The 25-year-old Welshman thrilled fans in the Steel City when he took the title from Gary Sykes earlier this year in one of the best fights in 2011.

His challenger, the undercard that will be stacked with Hatton Promotions prospects and ticket details will be announced early in the New Year.

Hatton Promotions head Ricky Hatton said: “Sheffield is becoming a regular city for us to visit, and we‘re delighted to be returning to Ponds Forge.

“Sheffield seems to be producing lots of top young kids right now like Adam Etches and Scott Jenkins and there is only good times ahead.

“Next year will also be a big one for heavyweight Richard Towers who will eventually will be heading a big card at Ponds Forge.

“Gary Buckland tops this card and if his first defence has half the excitement of the Sykes fight, fans will be happy.”
