By Chris Williams: With WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather potentially facing some jail time for his plea bargain to escape a felony conviction for domestic violence involving his the mother of his three children, Mayweather could find himself receiving a jail sentence of between several days to as long as year and half in a worst case scenario.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Arum is looking to have a 45,000 seat arena built in Las Vegas on the strip. This runs counter to what Mayweather’s advisor is talking about, as he was looking at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on May 5th, not in June. Arum doesn’t like May 5th, though, saying “That’s Cinco de Mayo and too early.”
It sounds like Arum is kind of going in his own direction apart from what Mayweather wants. This could be another deal breaker, as we’ve seen before. Arum might be better off agreeing with Mayweather on the May date if he’s serious about wanting to match his cash cow fighter Pacquiao up against Mayweather. If Arum is just looking at posturing and has no intention of risking Pacquiao against Mayweather, then Arum is doing a great job in disagreeing on dates and on the venue. That’s definitely a good way of destroying the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight.

A superfight like Pacquiao Mayweather must be held in a place that can seat more than 50,000 people minimum. Arum is a businessman he knows what’s he’s talking about ie. maximize the profits, and MGM Grand just can’t cut it with its limited seating capacity considering the 60,000 chinese big shots fans of Manny already asking for tickets.

Moments ago judge Melissa Saragosa sentenced Floyd Mayweather to 90 days in jail for misdemeanor charges. He is to report on January 6 at 10:45AM to begin serving his sentence. More to come…
Poor Floyd. If he stays home, he has fights with wife and gets jail terms. And if gets in the ring with Pacman, his career ends. He has nowhere to go.

Well, we now know why Floyd already picked a future date, for leverage in court. Sad thing is, this will be Bob’s new excuse as to why the fight can’t happen. He’s laying the groundwork already. Its no surprise he was the first person on the planet to comment on Mayweather’s plea bargain.

The Plea bargain did not included compensation to be paid to J Harris.
I believe J Harris’ lawyers would hit Floydie’s pocket which would send Floydie back to square one (before his comeback).
So after spending time in jail ( I predict at least one month), Floydie will be broke and won’t be in a position to demand a bigger slice of the purse.

True. Floyd’s admission of guilt doesn’t mean he is guilty or wants to admit it. It is just an excuse to avoid being in the ring with Pacman. Anyone would choose days in jail to execution.

Anybody claiming that Mayweather pleading guilty is REALLY an admission of guilt is slow. He would have to pay a couple thousand dollars in fines to plead guilty, instead of paying hundreds of thousands, possibly millions, in legal fees to take it to trial.

@artsimon….. Floyd had 4 felanys he was being charged with. He was looking at getting over 20 years in jail. His team got him off with a 3 thousand doller fine and probably probation given today. If thats not a strong legal team to u i dont know what is…….
I was taken aback the other day. I was watching a program about the Philipines, and they talked about violence against women and how such cases are treated by the police as domestic issues. I was also suprised by the poverty levels, how people live in squalor, in ranshackles including graveyards! Come on guys, there is a lot that has gone wrong in this nation.
