Image: Ward vs. Froch: Andre puts Carl in his placeBy Scott Gilfoid: WBA super middleweight champion Andre Wrd (24-0, 13 KO’s) was in fine form in his face to face meeting with WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (28-1, 20 KO’s) in a televised meeting hosted by Showtime’s Jim Gray. In a brief snippet from the show, which will be airing on December 3rd on Showtime, Ward did an excellent job of shutting Froch’s yap when he started giving some lip and trying his controlling tactics during the meeting. Ward wasn’t having any of it, and basically put Froch in his place. It was priceless.

Here’s a brief snippet from the meeting:

Here are some tasty quotes:

Froch: “Do you feel you’d be great, hypothetically speaking, if you put that in your trophy cabinet? Let me tell you its not happening.”

Ward: “The way my father raised me we don’t pat ourselves on the back. We don’t call ourselves great. We let other people do that.”

Froch: “Okay, you don’t need to go deep and meaningful and start about that issue. All I’m saying is he [Ward] has no answer. If the answer is no that’s fine.”

Ward: “What you’ve got to understand in this conversation is you’re not in control. That’s what you love to be in, and when you’re not in control, you can’t handle it. You try to be philosophical, but when I’m philosophical, ‘I’m getting too deep.’ You’re not in control.”

Froch: “I asked you a simple question.”

Ward: “What I’m saying and my response is you stay on your side of the table and answer the way you want to and I’m going to do the same.”

Froch: “Okay.”

Ward: “Not Carl Froch. It’s not the Carl Froch show.”

Froch: “Is it not? Thanks for pointing that out.”

Ward: “And that’s good for TV.”

Man, Ward really put Froch in his place with this interview. If I was to pick a winner in this meeting, I’d choose Ward by knockout. He really shut Froch’s yap almost immediately and had him reeling by the end. This, of course, is only a taste of what’s going to be happening on December 17th when the two fighters step inside the ring to get it on.
