OMB ANNOUNCES REFEREES AND JUDGES FOR SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 26, ARCE-ANGKOTTA AND BRONER-RODRÍGUEZ, TITLE BOUTS

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO- World Boxing Organization (WBO) by president Francisco “Paco” Valcarcel, announced today the referees and judges who will work on the two world title bouts, Jorge “Travieso” Arce vs Angky Angkotta and Adrien Broner vs Vicente Martin Rodriguez, this Saturday, November 26 in Mexico and Ohio, United States.

Valcardel reported that for the vacant WBO Bantamweight Championship fight between the Mexican Arce (58-6-2, 45 KOs) and Indonesian Angkotta (25-5, 14 KOs), the referee will be Jose H. Rivera, from Puerto Rico. Meanwhile, the judges are Alejandro López-Cid, from Mexico, and Adelayde Byrd and Joe García, from United States. WBO supervisor will be Rafael López Santos. Nonito Donaire vacated this title recently.

Arce, who is looking to become the first Mexican boxeo to win titles in five different weight classes, is the first 118 pounds WBO ranked. Angkota is ranked sixth. Arce owned world titles in 108, 112, 115 and 122 pounds. This fight, Arce-Angkotta will be held at the Plaza de Toros Rea in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico, in a Promociones Zanfer presentation.

While at the US Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio, in a Golden Boy Promotions presentation, unbeaten and first 130lbs ranked Broner (21-0, 17 KOs) and Argentinian Rodríguez (34-2-1, 19 KOs), sixth ranked, will fight for the vacant WBO Junior Lightweight title, vacated by Ricky Burns. The referee for the Broner-Rodriguez bout will be Frank Garza. Judges for this fight are Thomas Miller, David Iacobucci and Robert Hecko. WBO supervisor will be John Duggan.
