Image: Marquez beating Pacquiao tonight = Good for boxingBy Manuel Perez: Okay, justice will be served when Juan Manuel Marquez beats WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao tonight in front of a worldwide audience on HBO pay per view at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is going to be a beating and I’m really looking forward to it.

My prediction for the fight is that Marquez, 38, will show his warrior heart by beating Pacquiao beyond recognition and leaving him in a bloody crumpled mess on the canvas by the 11th. There’s going to be a lot of unhappy Pacquiao fans tonight who have put a lot of their hopes and dreams into seeing Pacquiao win this fight. It’s not happening. Okay, Pacquiao is going to get whipped black and blue by the end of this fight and leave Freddie Roach in opened mouth shock at his fallen fighter.

Pacquiao’s features are going to get steadily rearranged by Marquez round after round. By the end of the fight, Pacquiao is going look like an old hound dog that’s been left out in the rain for too long, except instead of water it’s going to be Pacquiao’s red blood that’s going to be all over him from head to toe. The nose will be twisted from Marquez’s shots; the lips will be busted; the eyes cut on both sides, and maybe a couple of teeth knocked out.

You get the picture? Marquez is going to make a mess of the Filipino and leave no doubt who the better fighter is. Okay, Marquez is going to rip into Pacquiao’s face with his newfound strength and leave Pacquiao face down on the canvas. Before that happens though, Roach will be trying every trick in the book to rally his fighter Pacquiao, giving advice rapid fire that Pacquiao couldn’t hope to follow even in his wildest dreams. He’ll be out of his league in this fight and it won’t matter what Roach tells him to do, Pacquiao’s limited skills won’t make him competitive.

In the end, look for Pacquiao to collapse under a furious onslaught from Marquez. Maybe Roach might out of love for his fighter toss in the white towel of surrender to save Pacquiao before he gets put down face first. I doubt it. Roach probably will freeze up and will leave Pacquiao in too long to soak up a needless beating.
