Image: Khan changes tune about Pacquiao-Marquez III resultsBy Chris Williams: After originally saying he saw Juan Manuel Marquez beating his buddy WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao by a 12 round decision on November 12th, Amir Khan is now saying he thinks Pacquiao won the fight by at least two rounds. Why the change? Could it be Khan is feeling bad about siding against his friend Pacquiao?

Speaking on his twitter account, Khan said “Setting the record straight, I did not tell Pacquiao to retire. The time I thought it was a close fight and may have lost it or a draw, but when I saw the replay, Manny won by two or three rounds. He still has three-five fights left.”

You know what I think. I think Khan’s original instinct was the correct one, the one he really felt. When you go with your gut instinct about certain things the first time out, it’s usually the correct one.

I think Khan saw the fight the first time, saw that Pacquiao got whipped, and rightly picked Marquez as the winner. But when Khan saw it for the second time, I think he may have had more wishful thinking working for him at that time. I know how I would feel if I was watching my buddy fight.

I would have a hard time scoring the fight against them, I really would. I think I would go out of my way to score rounds for my pal. I think it’s just natural to do this. That’s why I’m going with Khan’s initial belief that Pacquiao got beat by Marquez, and am totally ignoring what Khan said after seeing the fight a second time.
