By Joel Aybar: NEW YORK, NY — New York’s own 26 year old Will Rosinsky 14-0-0 8 KO’s will lace up the gloves in a battle of undefeated records against boxing prospect Edwin Rodriguez 19-0-0 14 KO’s of Massachusetts by way of the Dominican Republic.

They will meet up on Friday October 21st in Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut. This fight will be shown on Showtime under the boxing series “ShoBox The Next Generation” a boxing series where up and coming prospects are tested against each other or against other tough fighters.

This will be Rosinsky’s first nationally televised fight but the accomplished amateur seems cool about the situation and says “I fought at the Garden where it holds almost 3,500 people and there’s cameras in your face, this place (Foxwoods Resort and Casino) holds like 2,500 and there’s cameras. Whether it’s going to be on Showtime or MSG it’s the same thing to me.”

Although the sight of seeing two friends fist fighting is weird in the real world in the boxing world it happens all the time. This time is no different. Rodriguez and Rosinsky have been friends since the amateurs traveling all over the world including China and were roommates in Hungary. Rosinsky strictly looks at this as “Business” and also said “come fight night we won’t be friends, but as soon as that final bell rings it’s (their friendship) going to go right back to where it was”. Although Rosinsky said come fight night they won’t be friends Rodriguez seems to think otherwise and has deleted his amateur buddy from his Facebook friends list. Rosinsky believes that maybe Rodriguez’s team might’ve had something to do with that, so they won’t be in contact.

Rosinsky a four time New York state Golden Glove champion as well as a national Golden Glove champion is in the rare position of being a underdog in this fight. This is not a position Rosinsky may be use to but it is one he likes. “I like it” he says. “The reason why I do is because I don’t feel like there is any pressure on me. When you’re expected to do something, when you’re expected to win, you feel so much pressure you feel like you have to go by those guidelines that people expect. ” says Rosinsky.

Rosinsky who said he hates when other boxers say it but he claims he is “in the best shape of (his) entire life”. This fight promises to be a good one considering the styles and level of talent. Hopefully Rodriguez comes in the best shape of his life as well.
