At the seven-day official pre-weigh-in, Edgar Sosa weighed 116 pounds and Pongsaklek Wonjongkam weighed 117.

Bangkok is being threatened by floods that have devastated a large part of the area, and promoter Piyarat Vachirarattanawongse is considering the possibility of changing the venue for this bout. It is currently scheduled to be held at the 11th Infantry Boxing Arena. If the rain does not stop and the original venue is threatened by flooding, the event would be moved to the legendary Lumpini Stadium, near downtown Bangkok.
