Fury is seen by many in the British Isles as the fighter to replace David Haye after “The Hayemaker’s” humiliating loss to heavyweight champion Vladimir Klitschko on July 2nd.
In his last fight the 6’9” Fury stopped American Nicolai Firtha in the 5th round in Belfast in September.

The 23 year old Fury won the British heavyweight title when he defeated Dereck Chisora in July. Fury will have a six inch height advantage over the 6’3” Pajkic.

With the future of England’s former pride and joy David Haye questionable at best the hopes and dreams of British boxing fans are riding on Tyson Fury’s broad shoulders. Former featherweight champion Barry McGuigan describes Fury as part of a great future for the British heavyweight division.

Tyson promoter Mick Hennessy was quoted by BBC Sport Boxing as saying:

“In his last six fights, including the upcoming one against Pajkic, Tyson will have fought four undefeated fighters, which is unheard of for a top heavyweight coming up in the ranks.

“Tyson is old school and he is doing everything in the proper way. I honestly believe that, within 18 months to two years, not only will he be the number one heavyweight in the world, but the biggest name in the sport as well.”

The 34 year old Pajkic is a native of Bosnia and left the war torn country for Canada in 1996. Since that time Canada has become Neven’s adopted country. Presently the undefeated Pajkic reigns as Canada’s heavyweight champion.

Pajkic’s promoter Rick Smiciklas said that there is already bad blood between the undefeated fighters and was quoted saying:

“I’ve never seen Neven show this much anger towards any other fighter. It all started when Tyson called out Neven, who then flicked his towel at Tyson and it’s grown from there. Neven can’t stand Tyson. Calling it a bitter rivalry is weak. Now they can settle their bad blood in the ring.”

Of course it is a promoters dream to have an intense rivalry between ring combatants, but in this case the animosity between Fury and Pajkic seems to be genuine. They really do not like each other.
