“Pacman” will be facing WBO/WBA lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marqez (53-5-1, 39 KO’s) in there Trilogy on November 12 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. The match will be an HBO Pay Per View (PPV) event.

The recent signing of WBO junior welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (27-0, 11 KO’s) by Top Rank CEO Bob Arum has sparked rumors that Bradley is a possible future opponent of Pacquiao. Both Bradley and Pacquiao are promoted by Top Rank.

Regarding Top Rank’s signing of Bradley, Roach was quoted by Ring TV.com as saying:

“Since Arum has signed him that’s what everyone is assuming, that Manny Pacquiao is next for Tim Bradley. So maybe I will have to assume that too. Timothy Bradley if he gets the fight with Manny Pacquiao, then that’s a big fight for Bradley. So it that’s what’s going to happen, then that’s what we will have to deal with.”

Bradley will be fighting on the undercard of the Pacquiao – Marquez fight. He will be matched against former Olympic gold medalist and four time champion Joel Casamayor (38-5-1, 22 KO’s).

Roach said: “Well, Tim Bradley, you’ve got to put him on the undercard to generate interest. That’s a good idea. But who is Tim Bradley? Manny Pacquiao is a great draw. But how many people can Bradley draw for Manny Pacquiao?

“Bradley is a tough kid. But you know it’s really hard to look past Juan Manuel Marquez. But I guess if you have to mention Tim Bradley, then I’m like ‘is that all we’ve got? Tim Bradley?

“You know Bradley has to look good in this show, but they’re putting him in against an opponent he should look good against.

“But because Casamayor can be a spoiler, again, I think its way too premature to talk about Bradley being in there against Pacquaio.”

At this point it is guesswork at best to attempt to figure out what Bob Arum is thinking. The “Dream Match” between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather can never be too far from his mind. Tim Bradley may be Arum’s fall back position if the Pacquiao – Mayweather match cannot be made.

It is unlikely that Arum will ever be able to turn Bradley into something he is not, a big draw at the box office.
