I bought into the hype that Pacquiao would be the bigger and stronger guy because he’s been fighting at welterweight for the past few years, but I think Marquez has done an excellent job of putting on weight in the form of muscle during this training camp without it effecting his speed like it did in the past when he bulked up to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2009.

Nacho Beristain, the trainer for Marquez, pointed out one of the problems that hurt Marquez the last time he gained weight to fight over 140. Beristain said that the rock throwing that Marquez had been doing up in the mountains had made him less flexible and slower. I’m not sure who came up with that exercise but I knew it was a bad idea because it was putting on muscles but messing Marquez’s speed up. This time Marquez is putting on weight the smart way with a physical trainer assisting him with exercises that will help with his speed, while at the same time adding strength.

Pacquiao could find himself he smaller and weaker fighter on November 12th. Now wouldn’t that be a shock. Pacquiao and his trainer Freddie Roach would have to come up with a Plan B to try and work round Marquez’s size and power. I don’t see how they’ll be able to come up with anything because Pacquiao can’t move like he used to and his hand speed has really slowed down to where he’s only a little quicker than Marquez.

Pacquiao isn’t the blazing fast puncher he used to be. Age is starting to show its ugly head by slowing Pacquiao down and making him mortal. It’ll be sad to see Pacquiao get whipped, but let’s look at the reality of it. He’s already been beaten twice before by Marquez, so it’s not going to be a big shock to see him get beaten again.
