Eddie Chambers suffers injury, fight with Tony Thompson is off
By Allen Fox: Former heavyweight title challenger Eddie Chambers (36-2, 18 KO’s) experienced tightness in his back while training for his October 28th IBF elimination bout against Tony Thompson (36-1, 24 KO’s) and he won’t be able to fight on that date.
Both Chambers and Thompson have been knocked out by IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko in the past, and it’s disappointing that one of them will soon be back in the position to fight Wladimir again because neither of them stands much of a chance to beat him. Chambers has fought only once since being stopped in the 11h round by Wladimir last year, beating Derric Rossy by a 12 round decision last February. Thompson, 40, was knocked out by Wladimir in the 11th round in 2008. Since then, Wladimir has improved whereas Thompson looks slower and more hittable.

Chris Arreola vs Tony Thompson in November would be great to see. Make this fight happen.
i wish there was a like button…..TUAJ is so rite……
HOT DAMN I WANTED TO SEE THIS FIGHT,,,,,,,Tony Thompson’s defense vs the swinging offense of chambers sounds so interesting…….damn cant believe this injury happened…..SMH
They could reschedule the fight to air on espn friday night fights for next year.
Iwonder if they will make Thompson fight someone else for the mandatory position or if we have to wait like 3 months till Chambers is healed…..
o well who ever won that pointless fight would just get beat by a klitchko
thompson vs arreola or thompson vs franklin!!
So who gets the shot now, thompson?
ha ha typical yanks! chambers is useless anywways
Chambers was stagnated by Wladimir. Many boxers who have had the pleasure of fighting a Klitschko seem to not be the same afterwards.
these two bums should retire
It’s pity news. Chambers is becoming a stagnate fighter.
