McKenna (McJack): Photo: Sumio Yamada – World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (43-2, 40 KO’s) is again calling out David Haye (24-2, 23 KO’s) after his total domination of Tomasz Adamek (44-2, 28 KO’s) Saturday night in Wroclaw, Poland.

The 40 year old WBC champion appeared to be as sharp as ever as he slowly dismantled the game, but outclassed Adamek. Tomasz was never really in the fight and acknowledged that as early as the 2nd round Vitali rocked him with a hard shot to the top of his head.

“Dr. Ironfist” wasted little time after his victory in turning his attention to Haye. He was quoted in “The Sun” saying:

“Haye is world famous, not for his boxing but for his tongue. I want to knock him out. I want to knock out David Haye. I’m serious and I know I can do that.”

Haye just yesterday hinted that he may delay by six months his retirement date in October if he can fight one of the Klitschko’s. Apparently with Vladimir Klitschko refusing to give the “Hayemaker” a rematch that only leaves Vitali. Haye for his part recently spent time with Lennox Lewis in Jamaica. Lennox won by TKO over Klitschko in 2003 when the fight was stopped due to a horrific cut. As in all of his other fights Vitali was ahead when the bout with Lewis was stopped. Lennox retired shortly thereafter depriving Vitali of a rematch. Reportedly when Haye and Lewis met in Jamaica, Lennox persuaded Haye to fight Vitali and offered his advice on how to beat him.

David Haye who had acknowledged after his one sided loss to Wladimir Klitschko that he had lost to the better man has now changed his story. Haye now contends that he lost to Vladimir because everyone was on Klitschko’s side including the referee, the judges and the fans. David alleges that for those reasons he never really had a chance to win.

For Vitali Klitschko, sending David Haye “to the floor” as he puts it is all about family honor and tradition. Vitali sincerely believes that Haye, with all the trash talk, barbs and insults that he heaped on the Klitscko’s has disparaged the Klitschko family. With Haye it was all about hyping his fight with Wladimir. Vitali does not look at things in the same light and he wants to restore his family’s honor.

It may be on that basis alone that a Klitschko – Haye fight will sell to the fans.
