Image: Roach thinks Mayweather is slowing down, believes he's ripe to be beaten by Khan and Pacquiao nowBy William Mackay: Trainer Freddie Roach saw things from Floyd Mayweather’s recent fight against WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz that made Roach believe that his two gravy train fighters – Amir Khan and Manny Pacquiao – can beat Mayweather if he ever decides on facing the two.

Roach says he saw a slowing down in Mayweather’s legs, an inability to move around like he used to, and Roach sees Mayweather now as vulnerable to Khan and Pacquiao. Unfortunately, Khan isn’t interested in fighting the guy that Mayweather wants him to fight – Jessie Vargas – and Pacquiao doesn’t want to stay in the United States during his entire training camp for him to be tested by the USADA.

Without these two things changing, Roach might as well pipe down and talk about Khan’s upcoming fight against the weak punching Lamont Peterson on December 10th. At least that’s living in the real world. Roach is wrong about Mayweather slowing down. Roach clearly wants his fighters to get payday bouts against Mayweather, because they’ll do well even in losing to him.

Khan, who went life and death with Marcos Maidana recently, would be out of his depth against Mayweather. And we’re about to to watch Pacquiao struggle against Juan Manuel Marquez in their third fight on November 12th. Marquez lost a one-sided 12 round decision to Mayweather in 2009. Pacquiao will probably beat the 38-year-old Marquez, but he’s going to look like hell in winning and really struggle against the Mexican.

The fact of the matter is Pacquiao is the one that’s slowing down. You can see it watching his recent fights. The wheels aren’t working like they used to, and he can’t move from side to side anymore. Pacquiao is now a flat-footed fighter that beats guys that are often old or coming off of bad losses.
