Morales, 35, does look very heavy around the midsection but he looked the same way for his last bout against Marcos Maidana, and he shocked the world that night by taking the fight to Maidana and beating him in my opinion, but the judges saw things differently.

Cano is a stand in opponent after original opponent Lucas Matthysse was forced to pull out with illness but that shouldn’t dampen things. Cano is ranked No. 12 by the WBC and is a talented kid with big potential. It is just unfortunate for him that he is taking on a modern legend and future hall of famer.

Morales will show us tonight why the last thing to go in a fighter is his punch. No matter how tough things may get for Morales tonight he won’t quit and will battle through anything Cano throws at him the heart of Morales is never to be questioned. Morales will win. I have no doubt about that. He will win in style putting Maidana and Khan on red alert as ‘El Terrible’ will want a shot at redemption against Maidana, and a super fight with Khan.

Tonight will be a lesson for Cano. He will have plenty of positives to take away from this bout. It is an experience if nothing else. And if he does manage to win then he becomes a very hot property in the game. But it will be a simple case of the young pretender against the old master and tonight the young pretender will come up short. Cano is young at 21 and has time to rebuild and comeback. The extraordinary Morales story continues tonight and time will tell how far the story goes. Don’t forget to follow me on Twitter: @dallan09
