Andrade destroys Duran in 3rd round TKO

By Jim Dower: Unbeaten former 2008 Olympian for the United States Demetrius Andrade (15-0, 10 KO’s) kept his perfect won-loss record intact with a third round TKO win over 38-year-old journeyman Saul Duran (38-19-2, 31 KO’s) at the Verizon Wireless Arena, in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Andrade, 23, put Duran down in the second round and 3rd rounds with hard shots to the head. In between the 3rd and 4th rounds, Duran opted to stay on his stool rather than come out for more punishment. Andrade showed a lot of improvement and could eventually develop into one of the junior middleweight champions if he continue to show more power.

Right now, he’s not really facing much in the way of adversity, but he’ll soon be put in with guys that can fight and we’ll see if Andrade has got the talent to make it to the next level or not. He’s still kind of sloppy with his lunging shots though.
