Maidana looking for a replacement opponent for August 27th date

By William Mackay: With Robert Guerrero pulling out of his scheduled August 27th fight, WBA light welterweight champion Marcos Maidana and his promoters from Golden Boy are looking for a replacement to step in and take the fight. Golden Boy wants to reschedule Maidana’s fight against Guerrero for a later date in the future.
On his twitter page, Maidana said he’d be willing to fight Amir Khan tomorrow if he were interested. Khan isn’t showing any interest in accepting Maidana’s offer unfortunately. The best that Maidana can hope for by the 27th is likely a 2nd tier fighter that few boxing fans would want to see Maidana fight.

If Khan stepped up and put his money where his mouth is people couldnt say st. He wont because hes a short cut artist trying to cut in line. Hasnt had one fight at WW and now he wants the cheese. I can respect his paper chasing but he seems too theatrical. He needs to make a better statement. Beating a religious never was dont count. The young lions need to fight each other. Here is your chance Khan. Supply that doubt with an ass whooping. The money cant be enough when your building a rep. Khan is still rep building. Its time he faces Maidana again and put the speculation to rest.
Maidana whipped Khan and Khan hasn’t been able to fight a tough guy again …….Khan is a side show………he will retire soon if not a cab driver then maybe a Cab owner?
Khan is the champion and not a back up plan for maidana .The guys who are making derogatory comments about Khan are totally not boxing fans and they have no idea what boxing is .How would expect Khan to fight on Aug 17 !!!!come on with this non sense .Khan needs to train first and then fight because he is being on vacation .

This kid is facing a hard challenge same as marquez hes too yung and way to brave for its own good no one and i mean no one would try to face this kid knowing how he fights the kid is really hard worker on te ring and now hes training with a better guy in the cradle of many of the best boxers in the world. so now no way any top fighter would take the challenge.

A-mere-Con should surprise everybody and step up yo the plate to shut Maidana up. The first fight was not a definitive enough victory. Im not a Con fan but I think he can put on a better show against Marcos if he would stop running scared.
