Ward is sitting on the cusp of stardom with his participation in the Super Six tournament. Right now, Ward is the diamond in the rough, but he’s about to get shined up on October 29th in the Super Six tournament for the world to see.

Ward is expected to defeat the slow as molasses WBC super middleweight champion Car Froch (28-1, 20 KO’s) in the finals of the tourney and then move on to knock off IBF super middleweight champ Lucian Bute after that.

Goosen said this about his budding super star Ward: “He is good-looking, he does hold himself up well outside that ring, he is charismatic, well spoken. He’s got the ingredients, that if you were building a fighter, a super star, you could build Andre Ward from the ground up, and that would be the ultimate fighter…I believe he’s a cant’s miss.”

Goosen took the words right out of my mouth. Ward is a can’t miss. He’s following in the footsteps of boxing greats Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, Sugar Ray Leonard and Oscar De La Hoya to find super stardom and riches in boxing. With Andre Dirrell still on the shelf for the time being, there isn’t anyone out there that can compete with him and stop him. Froch is going to be like speed bump that Ward has to slow down just slightly to take and then speed past him. The same goes for Bute.

After those two, the only ones left are Andre and Anthony Dirrell. Those are going to be the tough bouts for Ward. But we probably won’t see those fights until at least 2013, depending on how long it takes for Ward to get the Bute fight out of the way. You can already count the Froch fight as a win for Ward, because Froch isn’t in Ward’s league and is going to get beaten worse than Mikke Kessler did. If you thought the Kessler beating was bad just wait until you watch what Ward does with Froch. It’s not going to be pretty, because Ward has had to listen to Froch’s yap for the past year and he can’t wait to close it once and for all.
