De La Hoya corrects Mayweather Jr., says he never left Floyd Sr.

By Jason Kim: During Saturday night’s HBO Mayweather-Ortiz 24/7 espisode 1 special, Floyd Mayweather Jr. angrily taunted his father Floyd Mayweather Sr., saying that Oscar De La Hoya left him in the past. The whole argument seemed petty, as they were arguing about which Mayweather brother – Roger or Floyd Sr. – was responsible for making Mayweather Jr. what he is today.

It shouldn’t have been an issue but Mayweather Jr. I guess took exception with his father’s pride at his son’s accomplishments and wanted to put him in his place.

Oscar had this to say on his twitter about Mayweather Jr’s comments: “For the record, I never left Floyd Sr. He was and is the best trainer, period.”

Mayweather Sr. did seem to help De La Hoya’s career, making him a better fighter defensively and fixing some of the holes in his game. It’s too bad Mayweather Sr. didn’t train De La Hoya early in his career because he might have been a much better fighter had he got to him early instead of late in the game.

let the best man win.no excuses.leave it all in the ring.

  • Moonshineman says:

Floyd Jr. lost his “Cool”, because he is “Afraid”. Not afraid of Victor’s skills, but his youth,Determination and Heart. Floyd Jr. remembers when he was Victor’s age and had Victor’s Mindset.

Victor will walk straight through Floyd, cut off the ring and hurt him.

We’ll see what is the pay-per-view and ticket sale comparison between Floyd-Ortiz and Pac-Marquez. LOL. Pactards, just be proud that your cross-eyed midget god is mentioned in the same breath as Floyd — that is an honor. If Pac grows a pair and take the test as demanded, then he’s doomed.

kabayan, masyado kang ta-tanga-tanga. i keep telling u floydiots floyd aint “dooming” anyone. i’ll tell u what’s dooming means. it’s when u send someone to the hospital after the fight. it’s when u send someone to retirement after the fight.

when was the last time floyd “doomed” someone?

this is the reason floyd has so many excuses and so many demands just to fight pacquiao, coz he’s afraid of “doomsday” pacquiao is bringing him. either retirement or hospital. or geting a cotto face, delajoya face, diaz face, margarito face, mosely face after experiencing doomsday from pacquiao.

take that “bayong” off yo ugly face and smell the roses, you, phag.

@zdrx: “pacman welcomed his father back including his mistress and kids”. i see what you are saying, pac does not only commit adultery himself, he condones it as well. LOL. Now, let’s shift back the topic to boxing. LOL.
    ************************************************

pacman is not a hypocrite like you. even king david of israel also has weakness of the flesh. king solomon had a harem.

  • zdrx says:

only 3 weeks away…keith kizer of NSAC said no buzz yet on floyd-ortiz fight.
while that of pacman… more than 2 months away is already eagerly anticipated

  • zdrx says:

    atinatin,

    why compare floyd-ortiz to pac-JMM?
floyd’s fight is a main SUPPORTING bout for two main events of erik and saul on a mexican holiday.
pacman’s fight is the main event …on it’s own.

  • patriotic floyd burned 100 US dollar bill says:

SR said 41-1 because everybody knows that floyd lose to castillo in theyre first fight, even the compubox favored castillo but the judges gave it to floyd as a gift decision.

  • zdrx says:

    atinatin,

if you can not have a mistress…it’s not the pacquiao’s problem. what they enjoy is none of your business…they can afford it.

  • zdrx says:

    atinatin,

  • zdrx says:

what do you expect from a dysfunctional family? an act or not… they don’t need a script. they are that way…CHAOS.

compare floyd and pacman. pacman’s father left them for another woman when pacman was 7…throwing them into extreme poverty as a result. when pacman became a champion…pacman found his father eking out a miserable living in a marketplace. pacman helped his father to his feet…so his father can support his new family better…and gave them his bungalow. though pacman’s mother is still angry at his father…pacman welcomed his father back including his mistress and kids. he even brought them to the US…all expenses paid trip… to see him fight.

  • zdrx says:

chavez is much even better at 43-0…or chris john of indonesia at 46-0…or calzaghe…or gamboa…or bradley…or
now look…tell your idol his record means nothing…until he fights pacman. that’s the only chance to redeem himself. his fate is tied to pacman.

  • AtinAtinLangNaman says:

all of you pactards who think your cross-eyed midget god came from a model family, consider these: pac’s mother, a withered mid-60′s mother of 6, had an affair with her 20-something dance instructor. according to her they were “in love”, money and lust got nothing to do with it. yes, that rosary-holding, bible-reading old woman hbo 24/7 portrayed as a pious model matriarch. and what of pac’s father? well, he butchered and ate his boy’s dog and ran away with his mistress — animal cruelty, child abuse and adultery right there. pac himself has a child out of wedlock. one wonders how much he paid the mother to keep quiet. oh, let’s have some fun here — try to google manny pacquiao krista ranillo and see what you get.

okay, pactards, now that we have covered the dysfunctionality of PBF and MP’s family, let’s talk about boxing. LOL.

  • zdrx says:

    mannyfresh,

that’s right…it’s 41-1. for all intents and purposes…floyd already lost to pacman. KOed without a fight…not even a punch thrown

  • white rice says:

@silvercat…watch your mouth, because we all know that pac man really comes from the jungle and loves bananas!

  • mannyfresh209 says:

The people insinuating that Floyd, Sr. meant that Floyd, Jr. has lost one of his fights… WOW

You guys are hereby disqualified from debating on this site EVER AGAIN. His record is 41-0. Or, in other words, he’s fought 41 times.

How does Floyd, Sr.’s comment of 41-1 mean Floyd, Jr. lost one of his past fights? If that’s what his dad was talking about, he would’ve said 40-1.

41-1 means that if they (Floyd, Jr. & Sr.) were to fight, Floyd, Sr. would beat his son.

  • mannyfresh209 says:

    jarius92 -

Oh wow, LOL. Chavez Jr is heavily scrutinized because of his padded record. Save with Joe C.

Same was said about Roy Jones and SRR, regarding their opposition.

Floyd Mayweather is the truth, and you should really learn and try to get over it.

If Floyd’s fights are cherry picked, I would love to hear what you REALLY feel about Pacquiao’s latest fights.

  • Anonymous says:

when Floyd Sr said 41-1 it just mean Floyd loss a cherry pick fight before!

  • Rollercoster says:

Funny how pactards claim they have no interest on floyds fights yet 90% of the comments here are from pactards he he he really funny 24/7 is great tv show they are making a killing with it just look at all this hater watching the very same guy they hate.

  • gee says:

What a meglomaniac Floyd Jnr has been truly exposed to be…reminds me of a 4 year old spoilt child that is on the verge of anger tears, screaming & bawling if ANYONE disagrees with him or questions him in any way..

  • James says:

A hyped? they are just simply dysfunctional family! No need to expose themselves on T.V., people know who they are!

  • floyd loves bloated fighters says:

floyd and his family need not act in front of a camera, people around the world knew that theirs is a dysfunctional family.

it’s all hype to sell tickets, but they have a very easy acting session at this one simply because it’s part of their lives, being dysfunctional. so in short, they don’t need to act.

  • pact4rdsbl0w says:

    @Resistnsmoke
He meant that it would be Jr’s record if he fought Mayweather Sr.

  • pact4rdsbl0w says:

And I doubt it but hope Ortiz defeats him, but he looks too raw for Mayweather’s insane natural talent and commitment for the sport.

  • pact4rdsbl0w says:

    @the bad
You are wrong, the prolonged effects of steroid use make your head grow like a baloon and b4lls shrink, they shrink to the point that you start making excuses like “i am afraid of needles” and more nonsense like such.

The ego of this family is insane, they always act up when in front of a camera, that is why HBO loves them and I personally dislike them.

  • the fight doctor says:

its all a stunt. but pacfans are the only one’s foolish enough to believe it.they are only doing it to sell tickets. just watch the next 24/7.at least mayweather sr played a part in his son’s life!what about pac mans daddy or uncle the one who KILLED a man over a dog?

  • silvercat says:

oh yes the mayweathers the role model typical black american family filled with love admiration excons despite and hatred. a modern day love story straigh t from the hood.

“Did anyone notice when Floyd Mayweather SR. said “Your 41-1″

    what is he talking about?”

He may have been trying to suggest the Dela Hoya fight because many people like to say he really lost that one; I’m just confused at why the compu box numbers didn’t reflect that.

  • jarius92 says:

floyd has talent but he hasn’t fought against talent. Floyd cherry picks his whole career and avoids the best.

Even Calzaghe and Chavez Jr have better undefeated records than Floyd.

  • Spider says:

Remember guys, Mayweather Sr is an aspiring actor; Floyd pretends to be someone he’s not to sell his fights.

One more Con to fool his fans to help pay his legal bills and Floyd is off to another retirement.

  • darlow says:

oscar wasnt that good anyway 7 losses

  • Garv dogg says:

he ment that he himself could defeat floyd…. if you watch it again u will see . i think it was all staged for the hbo 24/7 show. boxing is all about making money…..

  • Resistnsmoke says:

Did anyone notice when Floyd Mayweather SR. said “Your 41-1″

    what is he talking about?

  • Brutus. says:

i love to say these as well ; i am 42 years old , i use to box as well > floyd jr he’s the best expression that boxing can give to us ; skillful , fast , powerful, best defence , best ring smart always in the best shape , never affraid to no one. if floyd was trained to someone like stewart ,roach or evangelista cotto ( the best trainers alive) floyd will be even better) both the sr mayweather crak brothers are a turn down for floyd devastating carrier. floyd he’s to thanks only he’s huge iq if he did what he did. mayweather jr will be the mayweather i will always remember as the best p4p of all time.

I like to see Jr vs. Sr. I might consider buying it because I don’t intend to buy his ppv against ortiz. I am going to just read it and watch it on 09/24/11.

  • Jan says:

I just hope that Jr. will tell the truth this time…not lies just like when he told the press and the fans of all the the negativities surrounding his personal life.

To Ms. Jackson, wake up wake up you don’t want your children to have a father like that.

  • Anonymous says:

Floyd Jr hated his dad because what his dad made him do it against pacman. Fhen all said and done, he is going to pay up pacman and his lawyers – courtesy of his dad.

Great 24/7, Floyd definetely knows how to sell a fight, thats why he is the ppv king. It’s kinda like pro wrestling a bit. In any event Floyd you know I’m a huge fan of yours and I think your the best in the world but if any of that 24/7 was real you should never disrespect your father like that, right or wrong. Your doing a great job, can’t wait to see you get another victory on the 17th.
