De La Hoya admits the fishnet lingerie photo was legit
By Chris Williams: Oscar De La Hoya has finally admitted that the controversial photos of him seen wearing fishnet lingerie stockings were legitimate. In an interview at univision, De La Hoya said “Let me tell you, yes, it was me. I’m tired of lying, lying to people, lying to myself.” De La Hoya had denied that the photos were authentic, saying that they had been doctored. This isn’t real news to most boxing fans because they already saw the photos as real anyway despite De La Hoya’s denials. It’s no big deal.
In the interview, De La Hoya came clean to using cocaine and alcohol in the past, which he recently received treatment for. De La Hoya seems to be opening up with his past in order to move forward as a new man. It’s refreshing and courageous what he’s doing. Not too many people would be willing to open up with their lives the way that De La Hoya is doing now. He says that he contemplated suicide at one point during a low point in his life.
The fishnet photos surfaced back in 2007 showing a cross-dressed De La Hoya with a beautiful Eastern European woman Mila Dravnel. The photos ended up on a number of tabloid sites, and created a huge amount of controversy after Dravnel sold the photos.
