Angulo destroys Gomez in 1st round TKO!

By Eric Thomas: Making his first fight in over a year, junior middleweight contender Alfredo Angulo (20-1, 17 KO’s) destroyed a badly overmatched Joseph Gomez (17-5-1, 8 KO’s) in a 1st round TKO on Saturday night to capture the obscure WBA Continental Americas light middleweight strap at the Nido Sport Center, in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico. Angulo started slow but then quickly heated things up with some huge body shots that put Gomez down. Referee Jose Cobian halted the fight with Gomez still down. This is the third knockout loss for Gomez in his last five fights.
