Image: Adamek likely to end up with a pizza face against Vitali on September 10thBy Dan Ambrose: If you look at some of Tomasz Adamek’s fights in the past where he’s taken a lot of shots to the head, he’s ended up with a gruesome looking face with his nose swelling up, his eyes suffering cuts and his lips busted open. I don’t what it is about him but he seems to bust up awfully easy if he gets hit fairly often.

On September 10th, Adamek is facing WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (42-2, 39 KO’s) in Poland. Just on size and power alone, Vitali is almost going to likely wreak havoc for Adamek’s face. But when you factor in all of the Polish fans screaming for Adamek not to run like he’s been doing against his 2nd tier opposition that he’s been facing the past two years to get this title shot, it’s likely that Adamek will be pressured by his fans to take the fight to the much more powerful Vitali.

That’s not good for a tender-skinned fighter like Adamek. We could see him looking like a fright mask by the 4th round if he doesn’t run like he usually does. The thing is if Adamek runs then he’s basically submitting to Vitali and surrendering. I think that’s probably what he’ll do I hate to say. But if he comes to fight, we’ll see Adamek getting a nasty pizza face with both eyes cut up, swollen, nose likely broken, both lips busted and face red and bruised up badly.

It’s going to be brutal but this is the sacrifice you have to make when you take on the best heavyweight in the division in Vitali. Adamek needs to take his beating like a man and not just cower and submit.
