Roger Mayweather claims Amir Khan on steroids

By John F. McKenna (McJack): In an interview with the Las Vegas Boxing Examiner, boxing trainer and uncle of Floyd Mayweather Jr, Roger Mayweather has claimed that WBA World Light Welterweight Champion Amir Khan (25-1, 17 KO’s) is on steroids. Roger also thinks that International Boxing Federation (IBF) Junior Welterweight Champion Zab Judah (41-6-0 -2NC, 28 KO’s) will defeat Khan this Saturday night at the Mandalay Bay & Resort Casino in Las Vegas.

Roger said that he thought Zab Judah would defeat Amir Khan because he is a veteran and has fought a lot of name fighters. He stated that Khan has not beaten any fighter of substance. Judah is currently working on a five fight winning streak. Judah won the vacant IBF Junior Welterweight Championship in March when he defeated South Africa’s Kaizer Mabuzza. Judah has been rejuvenated by his winning streak, before which his career was on life support.

Apparently Amir Khan is on Roger Mayweather’s hit list because he is a stable mate of his nephews arch rival Manny Pacquiao. Both Khan and Pacquiao are trained by Freddie Roach.

Amir Khan is a rapidly rising star and a potential future opponent of Floyd Mayweather Jr. (41-0, 25) so Roger felt compelled to go after him. Roger was quoted as saying: “The only reason Amir Khan has become the fighter he is, is because he’s got those steroids in his — too. The same thing Pacquiao’s got in him. I know because those ——- ——- told me.”

Pretty serious and bold accusations to be sure and accusations that have already caused major legal problems for the Mayweather family. When asked to elaborated as to who is dishing out the info to him, Roger said that he had gotten close to a few members from Team Pacquiao.

“————- from Pacquiao’s camp, that’s who. I talk to them dudes all the time.”

Say what you will about Roger Mayweather he gives boxing writers a colorful interview and holds nothing back. We will find out on Saturday night whether his instincts on the Amir Khan – Zab Judah fight are correct.
