Fury: Chisora is like a puppet; he doesn’t have the brains to speak for himself

London (18th July 2011) AN apologetic Tyson Fury has called on Dereck Chisora to “grow up” and start acting like a real man ahead of their British and Commonwealth heavyweight title fight on Saturday night (July 23rd) at Wembley Arena.

Chisora was pulled out of Monday’s press conference by promoter Frank Warren because of the harsh comments Tyson made in the middle of a heated media call last week but challenger Tyson just sees that as a lame excuse.

“Chisora can’t speak for himself, he’s like a puppet – he needs a puppet master to do the talking for him because he hasn’t got the brains to talk for himself. They pulled out of our press conference because of what I said last week and yet James DeGale gave George Groves a relentless amount of abuse leading up to their fight and Groves never missed a press conference,” says Fury.

“It all sounds a bit hypocritical to me. Of course I apologize for saying that I would kill him, no fighter wants that to happen and you know that I have a strong faith in God but it was just in the heat of the moment. Ali said things to Joe Frazier he regretted and Mike Tyson said countless things, it happens when you have a real fight on your hands and I won’t apologize for the beating I’m going to give him, we’re in the hurt business – as Ricky Hatton said it’s not a tickling contest.

“But you know I don’t have a record of biting people or kissing them at the weigh-ins – the British Boxing Board of Control have not suspended me. So let’s cut out the excuses – don’t be a muppet Del Boy. Come out, come out wherever you are!

“It seems to me that the people around him know that Chisora was able to bully other opponents but he can’t do that with me and they know that his reign as champion is coming to an end, they know that his world title chance is out the window on Saturday night.

“It’s going to be a great night for British boxing, Amir Khan will beat Zab Judah and before that the public can tune in live on Channel 5 at 10pm to see the future of heavyweight boxing because that’s what I am.”
