Steward: Haye’s intimidation tactics are failing on Wladimir, it’s Haye who is afraid

By William Mackay: Trainer Emanuel Steward sees WBA heavyweight champion David Haye as utterly failing and his wasting his time with his useless attempts to intimidate the bigger, more experienced and talented IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko ahead of their fight this Saturday night.

Haye and his trainer/manager Adam Booth have been hard at working with one strategy after another to try and throw Wladimir off his game in order to get an edge on Saturday. We’ve seen in at all: refusing to shake hands, saying they want a different referee, and trash talking. It’s like Haye is desperate to get any edge he can just so that he can try and win the fight with help rather than trusting his own ability to just go out and do it in the ring. Intimidation is often used by fighters that don’t believe they can win without it, and it looks like Haye is reaching for any trick he can in order to try and get a win.

In an interview at boxinginsider.com, Steward said this on Haye’s attempts to intimidate Wladimir: “Wladimir looks into David’s eyes when he talks all that mess and just sees fear. It’s Haye who’s scared to death. When he is standing in the ring come fight night and he sees this huge man in a red robe coming out of the tunnel, surrounded by smoke, with brother Vitali standing directly behind his sholde wanting to get at him, all these emotions are going to spawn reality.”

Steward sees this fight as a replay of George Foreman vs. Ken Norton, a fight where the bigger Foreman crushed the smaller Norton in a 2nd round KO. It was thought that it would be a competitive fight ahead of time but Foreman turned out to be much too strong for Norton, who had a physique very similar to Haye’s body.

It could be that Haye will be nowhere on Saturday night if Wladimir stands and fights calmly without the same fear that Audley Harrison did last year in November. Haye has been very selective in the opponents he’s fought at heavyweight until now. We could see a huge mismatch of epic proportions.

Look where Wlad comes from and ask yourself whether some smack talk is really gonna get to this guy to the point where he’ll slip up in the ring. . He might be annoyed but not to the point that he;ll fall apart in the ring. If haye wins its because he was quick enough to get to that chin, which would happen regardless of the smack talk.

I dont see any questions geared to boxers such as Povetkin, Adamek, Pirog, Ustinov, Chagaev, Boytsov, Jackiewicz, Sylvester, Zbik, Stieglitz, Sartison, Schumenov, Lebedev, Valuev and Wlodarczyk about who the winner will be July 2nd. It just goes to show boxing opinions are all about politics. The boxers on this blog wouldn’t have the guts to tell the truth!

Dont you think that manny is setting up a smoke screen because haye thinks he is getting to his man and Wlad would come out of his comfort zone but we have to wait and see which Wlad turns up on the night.

in my opinion Haye is not failing in an attemp to intimidate Wlad. no doubt its worked, Wlad is mad as hell and even Steward said hes not seen Wlad like this for years now. Stewart also said that Wlad is emotionally connected to this fight, unlike others.
