DeGale assaulted in Spain, false tooth knocked out

By Sean McDaniel: Former 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist and British super middleweight champion James DeGale (10-1, 8 Ko’s) was reportedly struck in the mouth while at a pool party in Spain by a youth, according to livefight.com. The punch was thrown by a youth and landed hard enough to knock out DeGale’s false tooth. DeGale didn’t fire back on the youth, as the hotel security took control of the situation.
DeGale was recently beaten by Commonwealth super middleweight champion George Groves by a 12 round majority decision loss on May 21st in a close fight. DeGale wanted to fight an immediate rematch but he’s been largely ignored by Groves and his team, who are happy with the close win and are moving on. DeGale plans on getting back in the ring later on this year against a still to be determined opponent. Recently, DeGale’s name was mentioned as one of the potential opponents for Kelly Pavlik’s next fight.
However, it’s very doubtful that Pavlik will opt to fight DeGale, because Pavlik is looking for a tune-up bout before a possible big money fight against IBF super middleweight champion at the end of the year and DeGale might be a bit too dangerous for Pavlik.

De Gale did fire back but that kid just laughed and called him the ugly kid and waved his hand like his breath stunk!!!!

@tino666 – not being funny but degale got beat of a future world champ in groves who would also smash pavlick all over the ring! pavlick would be back on the whisky after degale beat him up! pavlicks finished he showed that in his last fight when he struggled with a tier b fighter!!

A lot of love on here for DeGale. It’s a shame he’s squandered all the good will after the Olymnpics. Criminal mismanagement really along with inadequate coaching. And on top of all this he gets duffed up at a pool to-do. Come back James. Be humble and decent and get rid of the second tier coaching team,

I don’t condone this behaviour although DeGale is a complete dobber and dare I say it was possibly asking for it. His attitude stinks, and his head is so far up his own arse I can see why this would happen.
