Broner destroys Litzau in 1st round blowout

By Jim Dower: Undefeated super featherweight contender Adrien Broner (21-0, 17 Ko’s) jumped on a seemingly unprepared Jason Litzau (28-3, 21 KO’s), stopping him in the 1st round on Saturday night on the undercard of the Saul Alvarez vs. Rhodes bout at the Arena VFG, Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, Jalisco, Mexico.

As much as it pains me to say it I don’t think I would fancy Ricky Burns’ chances much should he end up in the ring with Broner! Although I think he would make it past round 1!
Broner’s style is very reflective to mayweathers. The way he slants to an angle and how he is very defensive which at times can make me impatient. Anyways, good first round knockout, thats what its all about. THE FIREWORKS…

Obviously not the same fight that you watched. Ponce De Leon looked scared and confused. And Broner landed the clearer and harder punches throughput the fight. Like I said, from the 5th round until the end of the fight Ponce De Leon fought like a man on the run.

Broner dominated De Leon. He looked great in that fight to me. He had the usually aggressive De Leon running. He’s definitely the first fighter that Ive seen to make De Leom fight tentatively and look frightened in the ring. Ponce De Leon was strictly trying to avoid getting knocked out for half of that fight.

Broner looks like he has a great future. His last fight against Ponce DeLeon was poor but he can kick on from here. Good win. Very disapointed in Rhodes tonight! Well done Alvarez though! This guy looks unstoppable at times!
